The practice is aware that our CQC report has now been published.
The report finding is extremely disappointing, because all of our staff are working incredibly hard to give our patients the best possible service.
We recognise that recent months have been challenging, and we have been striving hard to address the difficulties we have faced. We are working with the CQC to create an action plan to address the issues – both immediate and longer term - they have raised. We hope that our patients will benefit from those changes as they take effect.
We hope that our patients are reassured that our absolute focus remains on their care, and we will continue to work with the CCG to identify what further actions may be required, and what further steps we may need to take in the interests of patients and staff.
Information for attention
Some of you will know that we have experienced staffing difficulties recently, with a higher than normal turnover of colleagues leaving, and joining, the practice. We have been doing everything possible to ensure that this situation does not cause inconvenience for our patients. Despite these challenges we are trying our best to provide you with an excellent level of service, we are sorry if you felt we are not providing a service to a level that you expect.
On behalf of the practice we would like to apologise to anyone who has been affected by our staffing challenges – we have been recruiting and believe that we will continue to offer people the level of service the practice prides itself in providing. We are also working closely with NHS South Eastern Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group, to better understand the longer term issues we face, and to decide how those issues should best be addressed.

PHLEBOTOMY - Your Blood Test Services
From April 1, 2019, blood tests, requested by us, for you, will be carried out by our own practice.
Up until now, they have been provided for you by staff from Southern Health Foundation Trust (SHFT) in line with a number of other practices in the area.
By providing the service in-house, we hope this will help us to improve our services to you by:
- Improving your access to our services
- Making it easier to make appointments at a more convenient time
- Providing a more holistic service when you come to have your blood taken
This will help the local NHS streamline its community phlebotomy services across the area, so that all GP practices will all be offering this service in the same way.
Patients who already have their blood taken at home will not be affected, as these services will continue.
Our staff will advise you of the booking process when you are requested to have a blood test by your GP practice.
Portsmouth Hospital Trust (PHT) will continue to take your bloods at Queen Alexandra Hospital if the request is as a result of an appointment you have had at the hospital or part of the care you are under at the hospital. The hospital staff will be able to tell you the opening hours of the various sites.
